Archive and Remove Hosting
Before Archiving
To make sure it's not pointing to Inology's web server still:
- Open the Command prompt either by searching "cmd" from the task bar OR by pressing WIN+R and typing "cmd" in the text box, and finally pressing "OK".
- Type in "ping www.[doman_name]" and hit the Enter key.
- Type in "ping [domain_name]" and press Enter.
- Lastly, type in "ping mail.[domain_name]" and press Enter.
- If any of these are still pointing to Inology's web server, do not proceed with archiving and consult John (unless website is being completely shut down by the client).
Suspend Domain
If you are removing web hosting only, do not perform this step:
- Login to Plesk (Server 1: https://web-server-01.com:8443/ or Server 2: https://web-server-02.com:8443/)
- Go to the Subscription that is to be archived.
- Click "Suspend".
Archive Domain
If a database exists for the website:
- Remote into the relative server.
- Open SQL Server Management Studio and click "Connect".
- Expand Databases.
- Right click the database you are archiving and go to Tasks > Detatch.
- In the popped up window, click OK.
- Navigate to the 'vhosts' folder.
- Find the folder named [domain_name], and copy the whole folder.
- If the website is one of many under a single subscription, find the main domain, open that folder and copy the folder named [domain_name].
- Go to the Archives folder on the Local Disk (C:) and paste the folder.
- Inside the copied folder, check the subdomain folder to see if any files exist inside, if none exist, delete the 'subdomain' folder.
- Still inside the copied folder, delete everything but httpdocs/[domain_name] and the subdomain folder if not deleted in the last step.
- Delete everything but bin, userfiles, web.config, data, and anything else that is equally important inside the httpdocs/[domain_name] folder.
Remove Web Hosting Only
If you are removing email hosting as well, do not perform this step.
- Log into the respective Plesk server.
- Navigate to the subscription.
- Under the domain, click "Hosting Settings"
- Under "Hosting type", click the "[Change]" link.
- If there is no "[Change]" link, see the related article here.
- On the new page, under the "Hosting type" dropdown, select "No web hosting".
- Click "OK"
Remove Web and Email Hosting
If you are removing web hosting only, do not perform this step:
- Log into Plesk.
- Go to the Subscription.
- At the bottom of the right-hand side panel, click "Remove Subscription".
- Click "Yes".
- Go to the Customer page by searcing for their domain name and clicking on their name.
- Click the "Subscriptions" tab to see if they have any other subscriptions.
- If not, at the bottom of the right-hand side panel, click "Remove Customer".
- Click "Yes".
Remove Link from Inology Projects
- Go to Inology and login to Administration.
- Go to Content Management > Galleries.
- Find the project by searching keywords from the domain.
- Go to Actions > Edit.
- Under "Website Address", remove the URL.
- Press "Submit".
