Transfer a Domain
- Ask for registry password
- Go to http://www.austdomains.com.au/
- Go to “Manage My Account” then click “Resellers Login Here” and type in the username and password
- First of all, an existing client record needs to be checked.
Checking Existing Client Records
- In left hand menu under Members, click “Find Member”
- Enter information in one or more fields (e.g. Username: “ravens”)
- Click “Find Member” button
- The results will be displayed
- If there are no results, a new member has to be registered.
Registering a new member
- In left hand menu under Members, click “Register New Member”
- If you are not sure what the details of the member should be (e.g. first name, last name), then email the client
- For User Type – select “Business”
- To find out the ABN or ACN, go to any of their existing websites to obtain and check if its current or if there is none listed, visit www.search.asic.gov.au/gns001.html
- Search for the company name (e.g. Ravens)
- Still can’t find the ABN? Email the client
- For Join Newsletter – select “No”
- Click “Register New Member & Continue”
Transferring the Domain
- In left hand menu under Domains, click “Transfer Domain”
- Enter a domain name (e.g. Ravens) and hit the search button
- If the domain name exists, it will be listed
- If so, make sure the Transfer checkbox is ticked and hit “Transfer Now”
- If so, hit “Transfer Now”
- It will then request the domain password. If you do not have it, then follow the procedure in obtaining a domain password below
Obtaining a Domain Password
- Send an email to client saying that the domain transfer password will be coming and request it to be sent to you so you can transfer the domain (do this before transferring the password)
- Visit this link: http://admin.auda.org.au/password_recovery/blank_recover_password.jsp
- Type in the domain name (e.g. ravens.com.au)
- Follow the character input prompt
- Click “Query”
- The contact email on the Recover Password page is the contact you address the email to; you should also cc the client (e.g. 'lorrainel@ravens.com.au') and John Mitchell
- The recover password also lists the registrant’s name (e.g. Jackie Heal)
- Once you have sent the email in Outlook, then click Email on the Recover Password page
- The domain password should be emailed to you at some stage

- Copy and paste the domain password in the input box
- Click “Continue Transfers”
- Or, if you want to transfer more domains, then click “Transfer More”
- Under “Existing Member”, paste the username (e.g. “ravensbus”), and then click “Login Now”
- Check the “Member Contact Details”, click “Edit” if necessary
- Click “Complete Transfer Request”
- Tick the checkbox next to “I agree to abide by the above terms and conditions”
- Click “Complete Order”
- From left hand menu under “Domains” click “Transfers Pending”. It should say under “Status: Transfer Pending”
- Then, from left hand menu under “Administration” click “View Notifications”
- A recent notification should have come through, in the “Subject” area it should have the domain name followed by Confirm Transfer – open this notification
- Scroll down the message, and click on the “Click here to Confirm Transfer” button
- You will be directed to another page, close this page
- Go back to “Transfers Pending”
- It should have a “Transfers In” heading, under “Status” it should also say “Transfers In” and then “Approval – Yes”
You have successfully transferred a domain.
